I'd like to thank Nelson Mandela for the colour because…

colors blend, colors stand out, colors compliment, colors contrast, colors excite, colors inspire, colors mix, colors match, and most of all, colors mend. Each one of us has been blessed with the privilege to experience the world in all of its beauty.

When we share our exclusive perspective with others we are making a connection that cannot be broken by any material force. Mr. Nelson Mandela, Madiba, you encompass both of these phenomena. Your discourse fuses the essential connection that bonds us all and shows us what can be achieved by embracing the beauty that lies within each person on earth and relishes in the importance of peace. As an amateur filmmaker my goal is to elucidate the importance of the human experience; the nature of which, since and because of your process of peace, has come to the forefront of our global priorities.

I find solace in the hope that each of us can be a microcosm of your teachings in the way that we speak, in the way that we create, and in our consciousness of wonder.

I'd like to thank Nelson Mandela for the colour because…

you saved South Africa from a fate that was too horrific to contemplate. The humility you showed when you were released from 27 years in prison to go on and negotiate a peaceful future with a people that put you there in the first place, were the acts of a Saint. I remember very well when this country was a knife-edge away from civil war, you humbled yourself and pleaded with all our people to put done their weapons and talk peacefully. In my books, this was a modern-day miracle. Madiba you are the ultimate role model not just to me, but to all of mankind. I will be eternally grateful for the future you gave me, my wife and children in our beautiful country.
